ABOUT ABOUT

Join the Friends of Fort Hunter on Sunday, October 29th as we take a bus trip from Fort Hunter Park to beautiful and historic Ellicott City, Maryland.

Founded in 1772, Old Ellicott City boasts the oldest standing B&O railroad station, the first Baltimore and Ohio Railroad terminus outside of Baltimore. Nestled in the Patapsco Valley, Ellicott City is a picturesque home to many historic sites, unique shops and distinctive dining.

We’ll leave Fort Hunter Park at 9 am. Dr. Donald Koones will present an energetic talk on Andrew Wyeth. Andrew was one of the greatest artists of the 20th century and lived right here in Pennsylvania and just celebrated his 100th Anniversary. When we arrive in Ellicott City, we will have Afternoon Tea at Tea on Tiber, a beautiful Victorian Tea Room. From antiques to boutiques, after tea you are free to visit the local shops throughout town. A complete list of shops that are available are found at https://www.visithowardcounty.com/things-to-do/shopping/old-ellicott-city/.

Tea will include:
A pot of tea or a carafe of iced tea
Four Tea Sandwiches
English Manor scones with Tiber Clotted Cream, Lemon curd and an Elizabethan jam
Fresh fruit and cheese
An assortment of unique pastries and desserts.

We’ll leave at 5 pm to return home and will arrive in Harrisburg around 7 pm.
